We live at a time when we could easily lose our own voice and allow the voices of majority to lead us.
We live at a time when everything that happens to us is not a result of our actions nor our choices. We live in dark times, in times of powerful countries against weaker ones, in time of huge division, at a time when globalization is stronger and more widespread then ever. People these days are saying “knowledge is power”,but i say that information, the right information obtained at the right moment is power. Now is not a time to be silent. Macedonia has enough capacity and knowledge but it has no voice in the international community and no opportunity to speak up. A few days ago,Adam asked me,what are you Macedonians proud of, have you got your own tradition and culture do you nurture your own music, dances and historical heritage? Young people in America hear that Macedonia is corrupt country in the Balkans, inhabited with people who have no right of voice, where the individual is not respected and where an emphasis is placed solely on the collective and no other.
Many things have to be changed, but through the right way, trough laws and legislations. It would be good to consider which strategy will bring better standing to Macedonia in the long run, and what principles and reforms will strengthen the country economically. North Macedonia today is still a young country and a very promising one.
I love my country and normally i am proud of my people, of course i told Adam to come and visit our country and he is welcomed to try our traditional baked beans and visit Ohrid Lake. But the truth is that i am especially proud of our young people who are transforming step by step Macedonia into a lovely place to live. I promise that i did not leave the idea to contribute to this process in my native country with my skills.
We are all one voice, the voice of a great country!
